Beercan Regatta

Every year in the Dry Season Darwin hosts the Beer Can Regatta. Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like. Teams build a boat out of beer cans and sail them.

Made of beer cans and has 2 stories and holds people and has a decretive crocodile!
It's pretty bogan but it's also equally awesome! Such a good day out.

Impressive right? And totally possible. Start saving your cans now, friends! It's going to happen next year!

After admiring the creative spirits, we wandered down Mindil beach and had a swim. We had to walk a ways until there were less people and boats but it was a perfect day!

Daily Darwin

In Darwin, in 30+ heat every day, the days are the same. Here's some of the things that we saw.

Out to sea

Mindil Beach Night Markets

The wave pool. Only $5!!

Enormous cocktails!

Had to give a $10 deposit for the glass but it was tasty!

Trees by the casino

Sunset on the beach

Darwin's waterfront. Most of the beach area is not too safe to swim in because of jellyfish and crocodiles. This was a little lagoon that was safe and free and had many trees to read under. And an Irish pub nearby for refreshments.
